At this time font support on iPhone and iPod touches is very limited. We chose what we thought were the 4 best fonts that fit nicely between the lines of the cards.

The Winc platform was designed at the University of North Dakota Research Foundation by a small dedicated team as part of a thought experiment in how best to use the iPhone and its sister devices to deliver learning content that could be created by an end user in order to increase their learning potential. Yes. Lock your set before it is shared.

Winc Desktop

This is a known issue with 10.6 and custom DNS settings. If you have entered a DNS server into your network settings the application may hang while trying to make itself available to the network. Remove your custom DNS entry and try announcing your sets again.

Update - This issue is resolved in Mac OS 10.6.3

1. Make sure both your desktop and iPod touch are connected to the same wireless network.
2. Click the "Announce Sets" button in the tool bar of the desktop application - the Winc icon in the dock should display a green "Sharing" label.
3. On your iPod touch tap "Transfer" then "Download".
4. Select your desktop computer from available devices then tap the sets you wish to transfer.

Sitting under the set table is a button labelled 'New Set'. Click on this button to create a new set. Likewise under the card listing there is a button labelled 'New Card", click on this button to add a card to your set. To change the names of either an entire set or an individual card, simply double-click on its name in the table. This will allow you to rename the set/card. Your changes will be saved automatically.

Yes. If you have text on side of the card, and an image on the other. Winc does not currently support mixing text and images on a single side of a card. This may change in the future. Keep on checking back often for updates.

Every set includes the option to disallow redistribution. While turned on by default, you can simply turn it off. This will prevent people you share the set with from sharing it with others.

No. Every set includes an option to make a set shareable. While turned on by default, you can turn it off at any time, making that set invisible to others while you are Announcing your sets.

Winc Mobile

Touch and hold for two seconds or until a keyboard appears. You can edit the text on the card and the title of the card.
